Contact us

Email: [email protected]

There's no contact form; your email comes straight to us. To help us solve the problem quickly, please include:

  • Your device model and operating system version
  • Your MoldBench version (Settings > About)
  • What you did, what you expected, and what happened; a screenshot or short screen recording helps
  • For purchase issues: your store order number and your Support ID (Settings > Support ID, use the copy button)

If you're writing about a file that won't open, make sure you have the right to share it before you send it. You don't need to send customer files; describing the problem is usually enough.

General

Does MoldBench work offline?

Yes. Calculations, the material library, the 3D and drawing viewer, mold set analysis, projects, PDF reports, and backups all run on your device. You get the same result on a closed shop network or where there's no signal at all.

You only need a connection to:

  • Download and update the app
  • Buy Pro or restore a purchase
  • Load ads, if you allowed them (without Pro, on Android, iPhone, and iPad)
  • Send crash reports, if they're turned on

Once Pro is active, it stays active offline.

Are my files or calculations sent to a server?

No. STEP, DWG, and DXF files are opened and processed on your device, and your calculations and projects stay there too. MoldBench doesn't ask you to create an account. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Can I work in inches or psi?

Calculations use metric (SI) units such as mm and MPa. For bar/psi, N/kgf, and mm/inch conversions, use General Engineering > Unit Converter, which is available without Pro.

Pro

What does Pro unlock?

Without Pro, you can use 11 calculations (at least two in each area), the full material library, history, projects, and PDF reports for those calculations. You can open 2 CAD files in total across the 3D viewer, drawings, and mold set tools, and files you've already opened keep working. Locked calculations still show their inputs and formula.

Pro adds:

  • All 45 calculations
  • Unlimited CAD files (3D, drawings, mold set)
  • PDF reports with every calculation and without the "Calculated with MoldBench" footer
  • No ads

Is Pro a subscription?

No. Pro is a one-time purchase. It doesn't auto-renew and there are no recurring charges. It permanently unlocks every Pro feature in version 1.x. Features added later that carry an ongoing external service cost (for example, AI) may be priced separately; what you buy today won't shrink. See Settings > Terms of Use in the app for details.

How do I buy Pro?

Tap Go PRO in the top-right corner of the home screen, or Get Pro on any locked calculation. The price is shown in your store's currency. Apple or Google handles the payment; we never see your card details.

How do I restore Pro on iPhone, iPad, or Mac?

  1. Make sure you're signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy Pro.
  2. In MoldBench, tap Go PRO in the top-right corner of the home screen.
  3. Choose Restore Purchases.

With the same Apple Account, you can use Pro on iPhone, iPad, and Mac without paying again. Restoring needs an internet connection.

How do I restore Pro on Android?

  1. Make sure you're signed in to Google Play with the Google account you used to buy Pro.
  2. Open MoldBench while you're online; Pro usually comes back on its own.
  3. If it doesn't, tap Go PRO in the top-right corner of the home screen, then Restore Purchases.

I bought Pro on Apple. Does it work on Android?

No. Apple and Google don't transfer purchases between their stores. Pro bought on the App Store works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac; Pro bought on Google Play works on Android devices.

Can I share Pro with my family or my team?

No. Pro is a personal license. It isn't shared through Apple's Family Sharing, and Google Play doesn't add in-app purchases to Family Library. On a team, each person buys Pro with their own store account.

I paid, but Pro didn't unlock.

  • Wait a few minutes, check your connection, and tap Restore Purchases.
  • If your payment is waiting for approval (this happens with some payment methods), Pro unlocks on its own once it's approved. You don't need to buy again.
  • If it still doesn't work, email us with your store order number and your Support ID.

If you accidentally try to buy Pro again when you already own it, the store recognizes it: you aren't charged again, and Pro is restored.

Switching devices

I'm moving to a new device. What happens to my data?

  • Same platform (iPhone to iPhone, Android to Android): your device's own backup and transfer tools usually bring MoldBench data along. To be safe, create a .mbench backup on the old device first.
  • Different platform (for example, iPhone to Android), or moving projects to your Mac: use a .mbench backup file (see below).
  • Pro isn't part of the backup; it's tied to your store account. On the new device, use the same Apple Account or Google account and tap Restore Purchases. Pro doesn't move between Apple and Google.

Backup and restore (.mbench)

How do I back up my data?

  1. Go to Settings > Backup & Transfer > Create backup file.
  2. All your projects, saved calculations, and calculation history are written to a single .mbench file.
  3. Choose where to save it: your device, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, or your computer.

Always back up before you switch devices or delete the app, and consider doing it regularly.

How do I restore a backup?

  1. Move the .mbench file to the new device.
  2. Go to Settings > Backup & Transfer > Restore from backup file and pick the file.
  3. Nothing on your device is deleted or changed; only records that are in the backup but missing on the device are added. Restoring the same backup twice doesn't create duplicates.

What isn't in the backup?

  • Your Pro purchase: restore it from the store.
  • The STEP, DWG, and DXF files themselves: keep them separately.
  • Theme, layout, and language settings: choose them again on the new device.

I see "This backup was created with a newer version of MoldBench."

The backup came from a newer version than the one on your device. To prevent data loss, the older version won't load it. Update the app and try again.

Can I look inside a backup file?

Yes. A .mbench file is plain text (JSON) and opens in any text editor. Don't edit it by hand; a damaged file can't be restored.

Accuracy and responsibility

How reliable are the calculations?

MoldBench's calculations are based on established formulas from engineering literature, and calculation screens show the formulas they use. Even so, results are for preliminary assessment:

  • Material properties vary by manufacturer and batch.
  • Formulas are simplified models of real physical behavior and can't capture every production condition.
  • A result is only as accurate as the values and units you enter.

Who makes the final engineering call?

You do. MoldBench is an assistive tool. It doesn't replace review by a qualified engineer, prototypes and field testing, compliance checks against standards such as ISO or DIN, or FEA and flow simulation. Mold set suggestions are a starting point, not simulation results.

Before you use a result in production, in a quote, or to choose a machine, verify it against independent sources and get expert advice when needed. See Settings > Disclaimer in the app for the full text.

I think a calculation is wrong.

Email us with the calculation name, the values you entered, the result you expected, and your source (book, standard, or catalog page). We check every report against the formula's source.

Deleting your data

How do I delete my data?

MoldBench has no user accounts. Your data stays on your device, and you're in control of deleting it.

  • Item by item: in the Projects tab, delete a project (Delete project); in the History tab, clear your calculation history (Clear all).
  • Everything: deleting the app removes your projects, history, and settings from that device.
  • Backups and reports: .mbench backups and PDF reports you created stay wherever you saved them (Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, and so on). Delete them there.
  • Device backups: your iCloud or Google device backup may also contain MoldBench data. You manage those in your device settings.

Deleting the app doesn't cancel your Pro purchase; you can restore it after reinstalling.

What about data held by service providers?

Crash reports (if turned on), purchase records, and ad data (if you allowed ads) are processed by our service providers. Because there are no accounts, we can't link this data to you by name. For a deletion or access request, email us with the subject "Personal Data Request" and include the ID from Settings > Support ID. We respond within 30 days. Purchase records that tax and commercial law require us to keep are retained until that period ends.

You can turn off crash reports in Settings > Send crash reports and ads in Settings > Ad consent at any time.

Does MoldBench show ads?

Only without Pro, only on Android, iPhone, and iPad, and only if you allow them. The Mac version and Pro have no ads.

Where do ads appear?

As a small banner at the bottom of list screens: the calculation menus, the material library, and calculation history. There are no ads on calculation results, in mold set analysis, on 3D and drawing screens, or in PDF reports.

Are the ads personalized?

No. Ads are requested as non-personalized, and on iPhone and iPad you won't see a tracking permission prompt (App Tracking Transparency).

On the agreement screen at first launch, ad consent is an optional checkbox that starts unchecked. You can change your choice any time in Settings > Ad consent. If you don't allow ads, none are shown and no feature is restricted.

In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, Google's consent form is also shown; you can change that choice in Settings > Ad privacy options.

The app is available in English and Turkish (Settings > Language). Supported files: STEP (.step, .stp), DWG, DXF, and MoldBench backups (.mbench).

Refunds

How do I request a refund for Pro?

The store handles the payment, so refunds go through the store.

  • App Store (iPhone, iPad, Mac): only Apple can issue refunds. Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com with your Apple Account, tap I'd like to, choose Request a refund, pick a reason, then select the MoldBench Pro purchase and submit.
  • Google Play: within 48 hours of purchase, you can request a refund from Google Play: play.google.com > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Budget & order history > Report a problem next to the order. After 48 hours, email us with your order number. We'll review your request, and any refund is issued through Google Play.

Pro is digital content delivered immediately, so withdrawal and refund rights follow Apple's and Google's terms and the consumer law of your country. Your statutory rights are not affected. Deleting the app doesn't trigger a refund.
